Common use

Malegra is the brand name for Sildenafil Citrate. The medication is used to treat erectile dysfunction, it restores the blood flow to the penis making it easier to achieve and sustain longer erections by making the arteries relaxing and expanding.



Dosage and direction

Precautions

Malegra is not recommended to be used in men for whom sexual activity is inadvisable because of their underlying cardiovascular status. Cautiousness should be exercised in patients with myocardial infarction, stroke, or life-threatening arrhythmia within the last 6 months, patients with resting hypotension or hypertension, patients with cardiac failure or coronary artery disease and patients with retinitis pigmentosa, anatomical deformation of the penis and in individuals who have conditions which may predispose them to priapism.



Contraindications

Malegra must never be used by men who are taking any medicines that contain nitrates, in men over 65 y.o. and in individuals with severe hepatic or renal impairment.



Possible side effect

Most common adverse reactions to Malegra are headache, flushing, dyspepsia and nasal congestion. Also a condition when erection persists longer than 4 hours may occur. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: alpha-blocker medication (doxazosin, prazosin, terazosin), other medications for impotence, bosentan, high blood pressure medicines, drugs affecting liver enzymes that remove sildenafil from your body (such as azole antifungals including ketoconazole/itraconazole, macrolide antibiotics including erythromycin, cimetidine, delavirdine, rifamycins including rifabutin/rifampin, St. John's wort, anti-seizure medications comprising carbamazepine). HIV protease inhibitor (ritonavir, saquinavir) and alpha-blocker medications (e.g., doxazosin, prazosin, terazosin) may also interact with Malegra and only your doctor decides if it is safe for you to use Malegra.



Missed dose

This medication is taken when needed. Do not take in larger quantities than recommended.



Overdose

Seek emergency medical attention if you believe tha have used too much of this medicine. Overdose symptoms may include nausea, fainting, lightheadedness, irregular heartbeat, chest pain.



Storage

Store at room temperature, below 25 C (77 F) and out of reach and children and pets.
